Morgan Freeman set to Rendezvous

MorganFreeman.jpgMorgan Freeman is still working towards getting Rendezvous with Rama to the big screen. Freeman is set star with David Fincher directing, Freeman's Revelations Entertainment is producing. Rendezvous with Rama is an adaptation of Arthur C.Clarke's novel. In it a team of astronauts is sent to meet a giant spaceship that is passing through Earth's solar system. Questions arise as to what it is and why it's there.

Freeman has being working on this adaptation for a few years now, first struggling with funding and now it seems the translation from book to film is the problem. MTV Movies Blog has this quote from Freeman:

It’s a very intellectual science fiction film, a very difficult book to translate cinematically...At least we have found it very difficult to translate, to get ready for film.

So there you have it, it's not been benched and it's still on the go. Hopefully the care they are taking with the script will pay off, and we will get a great film.

Freeman looks like Count Blacula on that picture, lol.
