Pink Panther 2 gets big name cash hunters

AndyGarcia.jpgOne might wonder what is going on with some actors when they chose to sign up to a sequel which had it's first outing critically panned, destroys a great series by a half hearted cash hungry sequel, and stars a once funny comic who is failing to even come close to the memory of a great actor and comedian. Yes, I'm talking about The Pink Panther 2 and the big names signing up to this dreadful sequel.

Andy Garcia, John Cleese, Alfred Molina and Aishwarya Rai are the names lined up to join Steve Martin in the The Pink Panther 2 which promises to be a terrible sequel to the horrible remake Pink Panther. Amazingly both Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer will return to the film as well.

Harald Zwart is directing with a script from Scott Neustadter, Mike Weber, Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel and Steve Martin. My lord, could they not have squeezed more writers on that list?

I'm lost for words, well I'm really not, I have loads of words, like what the hell are these actors thinking? Oh yeah, I know, cash. According to Variety the first film made US$140 million at the box office so the studio would greenlight a sequel in a second, and what actor wouldn't sign up to an easy pay cheque like that with the exposure it offers?

After all they can't really be signing up for the wonderful justice it does to the original series or Peter Sellers, or for the fantastic benefits it brings to film.

no no no! The only chance this film has of even being mildly amusing is if steve martin is not in it.

He made a mockery of the what was a childhood favourite of mine. All the fond memories were crushed when he opened his mouth and attempted to mimick a real comedian.
