From the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Irvine Welsh has revealed why Porno is taking so long to come to the big screen, the screenplay.

According to Irvine Welsh's own words during the Film Festival interview to discuss the showing of his directorial debut Nuts, the screenplay is being worked on by John Hodge right now. He's the screenwriter who brought us Trainspotting.

Empire has his comments from the interview and he's making it clear that the falling out with Ewan McGregor had nothing to do with the delay, and that all the original actors had to be on board. That means Jonny Lee Miller, Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle will be back again.

So we just have to wait for that screenplay.
