Corey Haim off Lost Boys 2?

TheLostBoys.jpgIt seems that those rumours of the difficulty of getting Corey Haim onto the set of Lost Boys 2: The Tribe have paid out, and the press release today tells us that he isn't going to be in the sequel.

The official press release does give us more on the plot, but frankly there's not much more exciting news. Despite the direct to DVD sequel gaining Jamison Newlander, Tad Hilgenbrink, Autumn Reeser, Corey Feldman and Angus Sutherland, I still don't see it being much more than it is, a direct to DVD sequel.

Here's the plot from the Lost Boys 2: The Tribe press release through Moviehole.

“This sequel takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals’ way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gang’s lifeline before his sister’s transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Feldman).”

So no Corey Haim at all, perhaps it's his good fortune.

Seriously, can you find any excitement for this film? Why?

Nope, I can't find any excitement with this mess either. And I can't say I'm at all surprised that Haim won't be making an appearance - he's killed what little opportunity he ever had for resurrecting his career.
