Indiana Jones warehouse film set

IndianaJonesIV.jpgRemember the warehouse from the ending of Raiders of the Lost Ark, where the crate containing the Ark was taken into a huge warehouse filled with other similar crates being hidden away by the U.S. Government? Well it's coming back for the new Indiana Jones film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

According to reports they have recreated the set for the beginning of the film. No real surprise since I already wrote about the return of the Ark and the nice tie in of the start of the series.

However it's great news that they are taking things back to the first film, for me that's the sign of a good sequel, not to ignore what has been before and try and change it all (take note Star Trek).

Over at Hollywood Elsewhere, who brought me to the AICN story, he says that the ending of the original film with the warehouse was one of the worst endings of all time. I totally disagree, it was incredibly iconic and gave a real feeling of impending doom, and indeed showed that the U.S. were as bad as the Nazi's themselves, just more covert.

I loved it. How could you not?

That ending felt really ominous don't you think?

wierd. me and everyone I know got something completely different from the final scene.

i got that the ark was going to be forgotten and doomed to spending the next thousand years in storage much the same as it had been before.

I will chastise you for equating my people with the nazis though, bud. with a chuckle, i'll remind you that we do the exact opposite of exterminating jews.

incidentally, though, I'm at the same point with this movie as I am the new Star Trek. highly confused as to what it's about and not sure what to believe. i thought the opening scene was going to do with the Crystal Skull and what not.

oh well. as usual, waiting to see proves to be half the fun. Keep the news coming, man.

Oh come now Mogulus, I'm referring to the context of the film and the closing scene. They're just as bad as they are keeping the secret and the power for themselves, and perhaps for more nefarious uses.

Yeah, most of the fun is about the surprises we get when rumours turn out to be true or false. Glad you're enjoying the news though, it's here to get people talking.
