New Vantage Point trailer online

VantagePoint.jpgA new cut of the Vantage Point trailer has arrived online and it is still looking very strong, it seems to concentrate particularly on the performance of Dennis Quaid, although not as much as the previous trailer.

That trailer we saw before was slightly longer, and I fear gave a little more of the story away, as this trailer seems cut to reduce some of the scenes of the characters involved in the shooting.

Vantage Point is a film that's been on my wait list for some time but hasn't yet delivered, though looking at these two trailers it does look like it will, and in buckets.

It tells the story of a Presidential assassination which is broadcast live on television, although he isn't really, the real President is hidden away watching the television like everyone else, that was a double. Meanwhile people on the ground are in panic and others are trying to find the killers quickly. Eight witnesses see the assassination from different vantage points, each with a different piece of the story to be told, only with all of the pieces together can we find what really happened.

The film stars Dennis Quaid, Forest Whitaker, William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Eduardo Noriega and Matthew Fox. Sounds, and looks like, a great line up.

It really does look like a first class thriller and I have an inkling that it is set to unite the old school thrillers of The Parallax View and Three Days of the Condor with modern ensemble films and Hollywood set pieces and action. If you look at the these trailers that's exactly what they are promising to deliver.

You can see the latest one over at Sony Pictures [QT:WMV] through Coming Soon and Obsessed With Film. The previous trailer is through Filmstalker.
