Ratner and Tucker on Sinatra film?!
If I were to mention a new film that looked into the life of Frank Sinatra through the eyes of his valet, who would you think of as Director and lead? Well whatever has popped into your mind it sure as hell wouldn't be Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker.
Oh yes, I'm not joking. According to reports they are set to Direct and lead the adaptation of Mr S.: My Life With Frank Sinatra from Sinatra's valet George Jacobs and Hollywood biographer and screenwriter William Stadiem. This really looks like it's going to happen, and I'm far from sure that this is going to turn out well.
Stadiem is set to adapt the book for the screen, so that's one good thing, and the story will touch on celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Peter Lawford, Ava Gardner, Humprey Bogart, Elvis, Marlene Dietrich and even the Kennedy family.
"Brett is a Rat Pack obsessive, and so it's fun to work with someone so passionate about the period. I think he's channeling Frank sometimes"
Wow, Brett Ratner channelling Frank Sinatra? Wow…there's a quote from Variety through Empire if ever I heard one. Fan of the Rat Pack he may be, but can he really build a character tale without any action such as this, and can Chris Tucker manage such a dramatic role without being loud and annoying?
