Walled In with Barton, Unger and Bright

MischaBarton.jpgMischa Barton, Deborah Kara Unger and Cameron Bright are set to star in an interesting sounding thriller from French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner, marking his first English language film.

Walled In is based on Serge Broselot's bestselling French novel Les Emmeures and has Mischa Barton playing the representative of a demolition company that is destroying a building during which are discovered the remains of various victims of brutal murders. The remains are entombed within the walls of the building itself.

The story from Variety sounds really interesting, and it is a good sign that it is being pitched as a thriller and not some psychological horror, and with a French Director, Gilles Paquet-Brenner, leading an adaptation of a French novel, it all points to something more European in feel.

That's certainly a great sign, because from personal experience I'd definitely say that the European film markets can produce some great and subtle thrillers. It's also an interesting turn for Barton who seems to be picking some really varied roles of late.

Has anyone read the novel and would care to give us a mini-review?
