We Own the Night new trailer
We Own the Night is the upcoming film starring Robert Duvall, Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg and Eva Mendes, and it looks really powerful. I previously wrote about the trailer as soon as it appeared online, but this one has been recut and is now in Quicktime.
The story is of two brothers and their father, the Chief of Police. One brother has become a nightclub owner and the other followed his father into the Police and grown through the ranks. Through the nightclub, one brother, played by the stunning Joaquin Phoenix, unwittingly starts working with the Russian Mafia who announce that they are planning hits on the major characters in the police, including his father, played by Robert Duvall, and brother, played by Mark Wahlberg.
It does look like a powerful film and the trailer is cut superbly well, I even love the choice of track, it all looks superb. One of the great things that has come out of it are the performances, and the main thing is Mark Wahlberg.
I often find that his performances are bigger than they need to be, but here he seems restrained and more real, like in Four Brothers as compared to The Departed (Filmstalker review).
Sexy, powerful, great performances, and a strong story. I'm in. See for yourself with this new trailer over at Apple Trailers [QT:L:M:H:iPod].
