Burton's Sweeney Todd trailer online

SweeneyTodd.jpgThe trailer for Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd is online right now and in Quicktime high definition, thankfully I was sitting up far too late watching Die Hard and caught it before bed.

It has a wonderful visual style to it, and my only disappointment is that we didn't quite get to hear anyone sing, a little from Johnny Depp but not quite. Oh, and you can catch a glimpse of Sacha Baron Cohen too. The trailer is a strong one, and the Burton touch is clear to see. I wasn't really that excited by the film before, but this trailer has really caught my eye.

The full title of the film is actually Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and is the musical story of Benjamin Barker aka Sweeney Todd, based on the Broadway musical no less.

Barker returns to London after being in prison for some time and sets up a barber shop above Mrs Lovett's Meat Pie Shop becoming the infamous Sweeney Todd. Together they help each other, Todd providing Lovett with some finer meat, and Lovett aiding him in his quest to rid the world of the people who have done him wrong.

Directed by Tim Burton it features the music and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim and is adapted for film by John Logan. It stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall, Sacha Baron Cohen, Anthony Head, Peter Bowles, and a few more recognisable faces.

You can see the trailer directly from Yahoo Movies in 480p, 720p and 1080p thanks to Blade Runner of Movie-List Forums.

Dear boy, you look absolutely awful. Why don't you try acting? It's so much easier.
