Hopkin's Slipstream trailer online
Anthony Hopkins has written, directed, scored and starred in his latest film Slipstream, and the trailer is online to confuse and intrigue. Wait till you see this, you'll be wondering whether you love it or hate it before it's even finished.
I'm hugely fascinated by the trailer and the promise of the mix of reality and fantasy, and of different timelines.
Not only that of course, there's the on screen promise of Anthony Hopkins, Christian Slater and John Turturro on screen together, perhaps for me more so Christian Slater.
Of course there's also the allure of Hopkins writing and directing the film, which is perhaps the biggest draw of all. Here's the story:
Felix Bonhoeffer is a screenwriter who is nearing a breakdown of sorts. He's always lived his life in reality and in his own internal world, and now he's starting to see the two mix in his own reality, and he doesn't know what's happening.
Watching the trailer I caught that short clip of Kevin McCarthy from the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers caught up in a flashback to the film. Now that had me both confused and intrigued. I'm keen to see this.
