Justice League of America casting details

JusticeLeagueofAmerica.jpgDetails of George Miller's casting for the Justice League of America film have hit the interflab and with it comes a list of actors who are set to try out for roles in the film.

Miller's Justice League film is set to be a live action with CGI, so there's not just voice work involved here remember. The roles that are being auditioned for include Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and The Martian Manhunter.

Here's the list of stars that are heading that way.

According to The Hollywood Reporter through Yahoo News, the following people are attending the casting session:

Adam Brody from The O.C., Joseph Cross from Running With Scissors, D.J. Cotrona from Windfall, Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Grindhouse, Michael Angarano from Sky High (previous experience then), Teresa Palmer from Wolf Creek, Max Thieriot from Jumper, the rapper Common, and from the Friday Night Lights show come Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter.

That's a fair list of names, but who would you be picking for which role? That's an interesting list, although I'm sure it's not a complete one. Brody or Cotrona for Superman?

Adam Brody as The Flash easy. Interestingly Common would really fit The Green Lantern.

I was just going to say the same MaceWinduCleaner. Cotrona looks the part for Superman. Some good actors in that list, but there is also some 'pretty' faces in there too, which I hope they don't pick just because they look good on screen (alas, J. Alba).

Well in all honesty I'm still not completely chuffed that the film is even going ahead. The very thought of kicking the Justice League onto the big screen should be much further down the line. Apart from Batman and Superman the remaining members aren't established in their own series yet - they really need to be.

All the possibilities that were there for casting certain heroes have now gone clean out the window, a lot of people wanted to see Ryan Reynolds handle The Flash and I would have loved to see someone like Terrence Howard or Jamie Foxx take the job of as The Green Lantern, John Stewart - but now...well that just ain't gna happen is it? :(

It's interesting that they've decided to do it this way round, using the weaker ensemble film to try and kick start the individual projects, it just doesn't make sense.

The film won't be able to develop all of the characters properly to the point of them being able to spin off on their own, X-Men took three films and a much bigger budget. Plus the characters weren't being played by bigger actors in other, bigger films.

I can see this being a death knoll for Flash, Wonder Woman, et al. You can hear the execs now, saying that they didn't work in JLA so how could they possibly work on their own?
