Schrieber takes over from Cox in Wolverine
The character played by the excellent Brian Cox in the X-Men films, William Stryker, is to be the main villain in the new Wolverine prequel, and while Hugh Jackman may be able to carry off the reverse aging, Cox appears not to be able or willing to. So a replacement was needed.
Liev Schreiber is the man to step into the shoes of Brian Cox as William Stryker, a piece of casting which seems pretty solid.
With this news from Variety through JoBlo comes the horrendous decision to change the name from Wolverine to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I would guess that they did a poll of idiots and found that they had no idea of the connection between Wolverine and the X-Men.
I also heard that the studio are going to provide free sat nav systems to help these people find their way to the cinemas.
What a ridiculous decision. At least swapping Brian Cox for Liev Schreiber is a good one.
