Sushi King! Goes to New York

Sushi.jpgThat's the strange sounding title for a film, Sushi King! Goes to New York, or with the full Japanese title, Sushi ôji!: Ginmaku ban.

It's another really interesting tale that is coming to the big screen which is based on a popular television show in Japan, set in the world of sushi preparation.

Yukihiko Tsutsumi is directing Koichi Dômoto in the lead, Dômoto is in a Japanese boy band Kiniki Kids, and the film also stars Yumiko Shaku, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Rina Ohta, Kinya Kitaoji and Laura Windrath.

According to Variety the film will be Japanese and English dialogue and will tell the story of a genius sushi chef who heads to New York to try and battle it out with the local competition there.

Sounds a superb concept, but having never seen the television series I have no idea how this is going to be set, comedy or drama? There seems to be scope for both here.
