Timecop a remake?

Timecop.jpgWell nothing really surprises me any more, really. So it doesn't surprise me that they are remaking Timecop, the classic film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as a policeman who travels through time to write wrongs and keep the world on track.

Unfortunately he wants to go back in time and prevent the murder of his wife, but the rules he polices under won't let him.

Amazingly the original film raised somewhere in the region of US $100 million at the box office, can you believe that? Well Hollywood can, and here comes the remake.

IESB has the news through /Film that tells us that Dark Horse Entertainment are looking to remake Timecop, but there will be no Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead. However, there has been some work done to see if there's another action star interested.

According to the story Dark Horse revealed that one of the coolest action stars around today is considering the role – who could that be then? The Rock?
