Cross is Sarek in Star Trek

BenCross.jpgBen Cross, the man who is probably most known for his role in Chariots of Fire, is to join J.J. Abrams new Star Trek film.

He's not joining as just any character either, it's Spock's father, Sarek.

On his official website through AICN the announcement said:

"Ben has been cast as Spock's father, Sarek, in the new Star Trek film. Produced and directed by the folks who brought you LOST, Heroes and Armageddon, the new Star Trek movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 25, 2008. "

Ben Cross has made some pretty poor film choices since then, and some very dire ones, but he's still a pretty good actor. He also does carry the air of a Vulcan well, from many of his roles you can see that aloof and detached quality, and there's the fact that he looks like Mark Lenard who originally played Sarek.

Really, I don't think it matters unless you're a Star Trek mad fan, I mean anyone could play Sarek couldn't they?

Ben Cross is a brilliant actor and he'll give this role his best as he does with all his work.
