It seems that the story that McG was going to be directing Terminator 4 is true. Previously I wrote that there was a rumour that he was interested, well now it seems he's signed up.

That, along with the news that the new film title is Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, the writing is on the wall. Arnie stay away, and prepare for the franchise to be killed.

Today Jo Blo through Rope of Silicon comes the news that he's signed to direct the fourth film in the restart of the franchise.

Expect a completely new cast, a completely new Terminator and something more akin to Charlies Angels from McG.

Frankly I think it's a terrible option, but it's the way the franchise has been heading since that Rise of the Machines put Arnie in silly glasses and made a joke out of it. Oh, and what about that title - Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins?
