New Star Trek Captain cast
The new Captain of Star Trek has been cast, or rather should I say that the old Captain of Star Trek has been brought back.
The J.J. Abrams "reboot" of the franchise is to bring Captain Pike back to the driving seat, and the actor to play him is none other than Bruce Greenwood.
Captain Pike was the first Captain of the USS Enterprise before Captain James T. Kirk, and in fact you can see him in the unaired pilot of the original series, as well as reappearing in a couple later in the series.
The Bruce Greenwood announcement comes from The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon.
There's other casting news too, it seems that Rachel Nichols from Alias, P2 and Charlie Wilson's War is set to get a role in the film, how good will she look in a tight fitting costume? She revealed:
"I'm very restricted on what I'm allowed to say...But yes, there's a good chance you'll see my shining face in the new 'Star Trek.'"
I have to say that I'm rather pleased with the casting of Bruce Greenwood in the role of Captain Pike, I think he's going to make a rather strong Enterprise Captain. The question is though, how much of the film will show him and how much are we going to see James T. Kirk come to the fore?
