Script review for Hell Ride
Hell Ride is the Larry Bishop written and directed film that is being produced and “presented by” Quentin Tarantino, and there's a script review appeared online.
The film stars Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, Eric Balfour as well as Larry Bishop himself. It tells the story of a group of warring motorcycle gangs, and some unfinished business between a few of the members Pistolero, the Gent and Comanche.
There's lots of double crossing between friends, resurfacing of old feuds and wounds, righting wrongs, finishing wars started long ago, and finding out who your true friends are. Oh yes, did I mention bloody revenge?
Un-PC is also mentioned, which I think is a good thing in today's society, this isn't the victorian age after all, and the script is supposed to be very well written.
You can read all about it over at IESB, who say that Larry Bishop's script for Hell Ride is pretty uncompromising and tough, but if you like that sort of thing then you're going to love it. An acquired taste, but a good one none the less.
Interestingly they compare it to the Paul Walker starrer Running Scared, which I actually enjoyed a fair amount. The question is will others, or will it follow the likes of Grindhouse?
I actually think that it won't, and we'll see are poor box office returns and a healthy DVD life. Still, I hope it does gets a full cinema release, I'd like to see it.
