Sweeney Todd trailer online
There's another trailer online for Tim Burton's film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and once again it's causing me some concern.
The film is adapted from the stage musical, and so itself is a musical. Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall and Sacha Baron Cohen, so it's an impressive cast.
The trailers we've seen already have shown that it's going to be a dark and moody film and visually looks great, but the musical aspect has been heavily underplayed. In fact the last two trailers haven't even mentioned anything even vaguely musical about them, and that includes this new trailer.
Here's the very non-musical trailer that MoviesOnline [Flash] are carrying for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
What's going on? Are the studio scared of how the audience might react to a musical? Is it that it's a horror musical or a Tim Burton musical? What could be the problem that they're hiding the musical aspect from these trailers?
