Angelina Jolie is set to star in a film about the real life intelligence operative Kathi Lynn Austin who has undertaken missions in Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia and Central America in arms trafficking and terrorist activities.

The villain of the piece will be a fictional arms dealer who is inspired by the Russian Victor Bout, someone who is regarded as the world's largest dealer in illegal munitions.

The film is an attempt to create a reality based franchise for Angelina Jolie and is being produced by Geyer Kosinski, Jolie's manager. According to the Variety story the pitch is similar to The Bourne Identity style.

Samuel L. Jackson is set to star in Unfinished Country from the screenwriter Mark Wheaton. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the script is similar to Training Day, the excellent film from Antoine Fuqua featuring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.

Jackson will play the chief administrator of an overcrowded hospital in the middle of South Africa's violent ghettos. A young medical student arrives and the two clash over the treatment of patients during a local gang war.

The film will be shot on location and is based around the Baragwanath Hospital, the largest hospital in the world.

Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch and James Franco are in negotiations to star in the Harvey Milk biographical film starring Sean Penn, Milk, about the assassinated San Francisco politician Harvey Milk.

Variety and Coming Soon tell us that Brolin is looking to play Dan White, the official who was responsible for the assassin of Milk and the Mayor of San Francisco at the time. Hirsch is looking to the role of the gay rights activist Cleve Jones, a close ally of Milk's, who went on to found the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, while Franco is negotiating for the role of Milk's lover and campaign manager Scott Smith.
