Lead Bond lady announced
Amazingly it's not Gemma Arterton, yes she is a Bond lady, but not the Bond lady, as I said was probably the case back in December.
The lead looks set to be played by Olga Kurylenko, who you would remember as the female lead from Hitman (Filmstalker review).
Gemma Arterton is still playing a Bond lady, and her character's name is going to be Fields, I presume with something else on one of the sides of it.
Olga Kurylenko has been announced as the new Bond leading lady by the producers and Columbia Pictures, with Judi Dench and Giancarlo Giannini also confirmed, along with the names we already knew of, Jeffrey Wright and Mathieu Amalric as the leading villain.
According to the announcement through Latino Review, the roles of Amalric and Kurylenko will be:
"Mathieu in the role of Dominic Greene, a leading member of the villainous organization introduced in CASINO ROYALE, will be a powerful counterpart to Daniel's portrayal of Bond.
Olga Kurylenko will play the dangerously alluring Camille, who challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper's betrayal."
Sounds interesting, although I do feel this is a bit of a titbit to try and keep the marketing machine going for the film. Still, it's interesting that the leading Bond ladies continue to be foreign.
