Nolan talks Dark Knight plot

ChristopherNolan.jpgChristopher Nolan has revealed a little more about the film The Dark Knight, the second coming of his new Batman.

He's revealed a little about both Harvey Dent and the Joker and what focus the film will have on each.

Christopher Nolan revealed that Harvey Dent, played by Aaron Eckhart will be at the backbone of the film, and the Joker doesn't really have a character ark at all.

Talking about The Dark Knight over at AITH he said:

“The Joker, he sort of cuts through the film -- he's got no story arc, he's just a force of nature tearing through. Heath has given an amazing performance in the role, it's really extraordinary...It's a dark and complex story, and the villains are dark and complex as well.”

Well that sounds ultra promising, but the best bit is that there's nothing too much given to the Joker in terms of story or explanation, and I like that, the Joker just is. I do fear that any attempt to rationalise, humanise or create a rationale origin for the character would suddenly destroy the character's power.

So could this be more about Dent and his future outcome than anything else? Whatever way it turns out, I'm glad it's dark and complicated, that's the way I like my cinema, just like real life!
