Stalker's Top Ten: Chris Rushworth

10FSReel.jpgThe Filmstalker Top Ten lists for 2007 keeps going, although we're only a few away from ending, well actually one at the moment unless a latecomer arrives.

So it's the turn of regular reader Chris Rushworth who is going to share his Top Ten for the year as well as a nice little list of who almost made it and the Top Ten most anticipated of 2008.

10. Black Snake Moan - I had seen the trailer for this early on in the year and thought it looked like a really good film and also seeing Christina Ricci half naked for the most part. I was really annoyed that it was getting released in February in the US whilst in the UK it would be in May. When May came around it wasn't being shown in my local cinema so had to wait till September for the DVD. Finally i watched it and it was fantastic i love the story and seeing this relationship develop between the main characters played by Samuel L Jackson and Christina Ricci.

9. The Simpsons Movie - I'd been a fan of the Simpsons for as long as I remember and was very happy to hear of a movie in the works. I felt the last few years of the series had been well rubbish and hoped the movie would prove a success well it does. It was hilarious it proved to be a great story that managed to last the entire 80 minutes.

8. 28 Weeks Later - Being a fan of the 1st film i wasn't really sure what to expect from a sequel thought it would fail. It doesn't. They managed to keep the story going and introduce an entirely new cast. The film proved to better than the 1st.

7. Stardust - This was a great fantasy adventure from the director of Layer cake and it was everything you could ask for action, comedy drama and romance. Some of the funniest bits of the film included Robert De Niro in a tutu and Ricky Gervais.

6. Die Hard 4.0 - A great action adventure and made up for Die Hard 2 and 3. There maybe some bits that are unbelievable but the rest was good some cool one liners by Bruce Willis and Justin Long seem very good in this role and different to what we've seen before.

5. Knocked Up - Another Hilarious comedy by Judd Apatow and even better than 40 year old virgin. It keeps you in the film all the way to the end. I've started to become a fan of Seth Rogen and cant wait to see more from him and Katherine Heigl was brilliant I'd only seen her in Greys Anatomy but i hope to see her in more films.

4. Hairspray - Got this DVD for Christmas and just loved. I've never seen myself as a musical lover but this could convert me. Everyone was great in the role including John Travolta, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow and Nikki Blonski.

3. American Gangster - I love gangster films and even though i never knew much about this story and just had to see it especially with it staring Denzal washington and Russel Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott. Its a brilliant story and well acted even though its a long film it seemed to go by very quickly. I hope this wins some Oscars.

2. Transformers - For ages i didn't know what the big deal was for the film everyone was getting excited. When i saw the first trailer that all changed i couldn't believe how good it looked. When i watched it was just amazing. Its got some funny and the action is just top notch. I predict good things for Shia LeBeouf especially with Indiana Jones 4.

1. The Bourne Ultimatum - I absolutely love the 1st 2 films well this is even better. Its got a great story and some of the best action sequences. I would like a fourth but this may have been the perfect way to end such a perfect series and in my opinion better than Bond.

Honourable mentions - these almost made the list
1. Superbad
2. 300
3. Halloween
4. Hot Fuzz
5. I Am legend
6. Rocky Balboa

Most anticipated for 2008
1. The Dark Knight
2. Bond 22
3. Iron Man
4. Juno
5. Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian
6. The Incredible Hulk
7. Harry Potter and the half blood prince
8. Be Kind Rewind
9. Rambo
10 . Vantage point

Many thanks Chris for that cool list, I might have been tempted to move a few from the "almost made it" into the top, but that's my opinion, what's yours?

If you want to look at the other lists that have been sent in, then just head to the Stalker's Top Ten section.

Good to see "Black Snake Moan" getting some love after the unfair mauling by the critics. It's worth adding that the HD-DVD version of this film is absolutely stunning and received ecstatic five star reviews for the transfer from the high def review sites - it's almost 3D in quality and really pops on the screen.

I don't remember Black Snake Moan being released in the UK or else I would of seen it. Otherwise it's a great list too Chris!

I'm pretty sure it was a limited release
