Bourne 4 in discussions?

BourneUltimatum.jpgThere's talk that there could be a fourth Bourne film, which isn't really a surprise, what is a surprise is that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are the ones discussing it, and after Damon said that he wouldn't come back to it for a long time.

Damon and Greengrass are brainstorming ideas for a fourth film, we have to hope beyond all hopes that they don't follow the series of stories of Bourne, because that plot development sounds awful.

The Bourne Ultimatum was the last novel that Robert Ludlum wrote about Bourne, but according to Moviehole the series continued by following his son...oh lord, it sounds like some bad Hollywood script.

Let's hope that both Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass don't want to go that way, we would be looking at a really poor sequel with a son of Bourne idea, unless it's a comedy.

That said, with Damon involved you could well be right in thinking that they would be bringing back Bourne himself and not relying on some daft story about his son. Well let's hope so anyway.

I know that the general desire is to see another Bourne film, but would you like to see all the same names involved and a natural progression from the previous story? How do you see it moving forward?

Set in 2035, Son of Bourne (Matt Damon) takes on whatever evil goes on in 2035 (Terminators? Unix Hackers?, King Kong?) ...sounds reasonable enough to me.

As for Damon returning .. Okay, so they are allowed to change their mind like any other human beings but I don't like being lied to.. that said, everyone knows I'll still watch it.

Yeah, won't we all!!

I think they'll keep the original Bourne in there, I really doubt they'll be stupid enough to go down the son route.
