Filmstalker's Week 11th to 17th February

Newspapers.jpgIt's the end of another week at Filmstalker. If you've been too busy to keep up then read on for all the best bits of this week.

Richard reviewed Jumper, starring Hayden Christensen , Jamie Bell and Samuel L. Jackson.

We saw the trailer for Uwe Boll's Tunnel Rats.

The film formerly known as The Night Watchmen also has a trailer. Street Kings stars Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Keanu Reeves.

Film noir next with the trailer for The Perfect Sleep.

Richard has M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening trailer as well. Just don't tell Fox....

Redbelt from David Mamet has an interesting cast in Chiwetel Ejiofor and Joe Mantegna and Tim Allen.

Uwe Boll is back with Far Cry. I've never played the videogame and I can't say I'm sold on the trailer.

And last but not least we got a look at the trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

We heard the sad news that Roy Scheider had passed away.

Shah Rukh Khan is planning on bringing bigger budget special effects to his Bollywood film.

The Hobbit may face a delay as the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien, is suing the studio New Line for non payment of profits from the Lord of the Rings films.

George Lucas isn't done with Star Wars yet. There is to be a prequel to the upcoming TV series in the shape of an animated film. As long as I don't have to watch Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman together I'm pretty happy.

After plenty of rumours and guesswork the star of T4 was announced, Sam Worthington will play the main character of the film. Christian Bale will be John Connor but he is not the main focus of the film. Glad that's cleared up...

Wonders will never cease, the writers strike finally came to an end.

Michael Bay has been talking about Transformers 2. Oh and he's also not enamoured with internet fan sites. Yes that sounds about right, I mean look at Cloverfield, that film relied on internet publicity and it bombed...

Al Pacino of all people may be James Bond's adversary, in the snappily titled Quantum of Solace. Seems a strange choice of role for Pacino, I can't really see him sitting in a large chair stroking a cat, actually I'd love to see that.

John Landis is to direct a film biography of William M. Gaines, creator of Mad Magazine.

We may have found out the plot twist in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. If you don't want to be spoiled then steer clear.

HD-DVD received another blow with the news that Wal-Mart have chosen to stock only Blu-ray in the future. Could HD-DVD be ready to throw in the towel?

Apparently so as a "source" reveals Toshiba are preparing to beat a hasty retreat and drop HD-DVD.

That's it for this weeks roundup, stay tuned to Filmstalker for all the movie news this week.
