Hellraiser remake gains new screenwriters
After one failed script, it seems that the remake of Hellraiser is getting another chance with the news that there are two new screenwriters on the case, and both of them have a strong background in horror.
Hellraiser is a classic horror film from Clive Barker that sees a man who finds a strange box and opens a doorway to hell when he discovers its secrets. He cheats his way back out and a group called the Cenobites come after him with his innocent niece being caught in the middle.
Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton are the two men who are destined to rewrite and revisit the script and try and make it work, according to ShockTillYouDrop through Coming Soon. For those of you who don't know these two guys are the names behind Feast, Saw IV and Saw V, so perhaps there's something there.
You know I'm trying to step away from just writing about straight casting and film announcements, but this one is really rather interesting. The Hellraiser remake has already been bumped once because the script just wasn't up to scratch, well these guys are the ones pulled in to save it...no pressure guys.
