Oscar 2008 winners

Oscar.jpgWell the Oscars are over, and I'm actually pretty glad of it. This year I wasn't interested in the slightest and it wasn't down to strikes or anything like that.

For me it just seemed that the choices were the same across all the awards ceremonies, and that the winners were pretty much consistently the same ones again and again.

However there are a few differences in this years Oscars, but nothing majorly so, and am I being slightly cynical when I say that I think some of these choices might have been made just to be different?

There are only a few options that excite me this year, Swinton, Cotillard, Cody, Counterfeiters, and Peter & the Wolf, the rest, well it's the Hollywood awards isn't it?

I have to agree with you, I think all the other awards have lessened the allure and glamour for the Academy. I think the Academy should release their results earlier. Still pleased for Cotillard winning though, it's only Daniel Day-Lewis film I haven't seen yet.

Editing for the Bourne Ultimatum? Wow. That doesn't quite pass the laugh test, does it? Or, did they think the editing deserved a nod since nobody else could tell what the hell the director shot in the first place? Maybe I don't understand exactly what editing entails???

I agree, Richard. Boring stuff here...I didn't get to watch, and now I'm happy I didn't waste the time. My main interest would have been to see Stewart's bits and not the awards.

Hap you're right, that swung right by me in a fit of uninterest, and I would have been watching Stewart and fabulous looking ladies - just being honest.

What they could argue is that perhaps the film quality didn't matter, the editing did a great job of hiding what was going on and all the associated action!!

3 songs were nominated from Disney's Enchanted, wow!

Did Stewart do anything worth digging up on Youtube, or was it the usual stuff?
