Stalked: The Road, Murphy replaces Lohan, Affleck, Hudson and G.I. Joe
Guy Pearce and Kodi Smit-McPhee have joined The Road with a rumour of Robert Duvall walking on too.
Brittany Murphy is rumoured to be replacing Lindsay Lohan in the dark comedy Poor Things.
Casey Affleck is joining a period drama called The Kind One.
Kate Hudson is joining Big Eyes about the painter Margaret Keane.
Cover Girl cast in G.I. Joe.
There seems to be some confusion over the casting in The Road, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com). While we have Reuters through Yahoo News saying that Kodi Smit-McPhee, from Romulus, My Father, has joined Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron, Moviehole have a story that I wrote about in October last year, that Guy Pearce has joined the cast. Now I'm confused.
Brittany Murphy, according to Reuters through Yahoo News, is lining up to fill the place left by Lindsay Lohan when she left the film Poor Things after admitting herself into a rehabilitation clinic. She would be joining Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum. Now that is a big gain for Murphy and a huge blow for Lohan, she'll be kicking herself for years to come.
Casey Affleck is reportedly joining a film called The Kind One which is based on Tom Epperson's script of his own novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com). The story, according to Variety, is set in Los Angeles in the 1930's and follows an amnesiac, played by Casey Affleck, who finds himself working for a mobster who is a sadistic killer nicknamed "The Kind One" and eventually falls in love with the killer's girlfriend.
Kate Hudson is to star in the film Big Eyes which will tell the story of the painter Margaret Keane whose paintings are well known for featuring big-eyed children. The film will be written and directed by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski and, according to Variety, will look at her life during the rise of the feminist movement and her lawsuit against her husband who was claiming credit for her work.
