Star Wars films continue
There's going to be another Star Wars film it seems, despite George Lucas telling us enough was enough, and not only that he's changing the storyline yet again.
Despite tainting the franchise with the prequels, he's set to bring the Clone Wars back to the big screen in glorious animation, luckily he's not directing and hopefully he won't be writing either.
The film is going to be computer animated and will prequel the television series that is due. Set in the time before Revenge of the Sith the film sees Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi trying to keep peace in the Galactic Republic which is being split between factions and battled out between the robot army and the clone warriors, the soon to be Storm Troopers.
The story comes from USA Today, who have a much larger still from the film, through Jo Blo and they also have a turnaround quote from George Lucas:
"I felt there were a lot more Star Wars stories left to tell," creator George Lucas said in a statement. "I was eager to start telling some of them through animation. "
So he's revisiting the series and at the same time he's changing events. Anakin will now have a padawan, aka a Jedi apprentice, named Ashoka. Is this the beginning of many changes and story liberties?
Dave Filoni is the director of the film, he's previously directed seven episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and so has a decent amount of experience. However Lucas is not out of the picture and is acting as a mentor, and that bothers me.
Expect plenty of changes, and undoubtedly this will not be the last film. Frankly I wish it had been, for me the franchise is pretty much dead.
