The Perfect Sleep trailer impresses
I caught the trailer for The Perfect Sleep this morning and was suitably impressed. The film noir that appears to be lower budget but higher production values than we're used to seeing. Although it doesn't pack a Hollywood budget it does carry loads of style and attitude.
After seeing the trailer I'm really interested in getting a peak at the film, and I think you might be intrigued by it too.
The Perfect Sleep is written by Anton Pardoe and directed by Jeremy Alter, as Quiet Earth through Row Three tell us, and it tells a typical story of a film noir, complex and based on impossible decisions by strong characters. Here's the opening paragraph of the online blurb which gives us everything we need to know:
"In a timeless city, a man with no name returns to the violent, brutal domain of assassins he left ten years before - back when they dubbed him The Mad Monk for his disregard for his own life and his intense devotion to one woman, Porphyria; a beautiful, luminescent woman; the girl he grew up with; the love of his life; the one thing he has ever wanted; the one thing he can never have."
Fantastic stuff, and the whole thing reeks of Sam Spade type noir, but when you see the trailer there's some serious modern attitude and fight sequences added, and the styling looks extremely attractive.
You can check out the trailer over on the official site, as well as set photos and details of the premiere and where screenings are happening. I'd love to see this.
