Persian Prince not in Prince of Persia
We already heard that David Zandi, a producer in Hollywood who is an actual ancestor of the Zand dynasty and could therefore call himself a Prince of Persia, has been rumoured in connection with the film role.
Well there seems to have been some poll or petition being raised about Zandi getting the role, and while he says it's fan based, the studio say it's self promotion and that he's not even being considered for the role.
According to the story David Zandi claims that a poll conducted through Internet research showed that he is the favourite for the role, something that might be a little biased since four out of the six questions in the poll relate to him - that's definitely a biased and slanted question base!
Digital Spy has the story and say that one of the questions asks what should David Zandi be payed as compensation for the role. Okay, no biased questions here then!
Zandi responds to the negativity saying that the poll covered some seventeen million readers and that it isn't biased at all.
"It would be like playing myself. It would be an opportunity to play myself because of my ancestry...I will accept the role from Jerry Bruckheimer (the film's producer) when he decides to meet the demands of the fans. I just want to give the fans what they want."
Oh dear, I don't think that Bruckheimer is thinking the same thing though as a representative from Disney denied that Zandi was even being considered for the role.
"There is absolutely no truth to the rumour that Zandi is being considered. The speculation is self-created."
