Wolfgang Petersen will direct the science fiction thriller Uprising about the human resistance against an occupying force of Aliens on Earth. The story comes from Variety through Latino Review.

Brendan Gleeson has joined Paul Greengrass' Iraqi film Green Zone alongside Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan and Jason Isaacs. The film focuses on differences between where the U.S. troops were housed and the streets of Baghdad after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. From Variety.

Jason Patric, a cracking actor, is joining the Nick Cassavetes film My Sister's Keeper which stars Cameron Diaz. The story looks at a young girl who is looking to the courts to escape her parents who she believes have given birth to her to supply organs for her very ill sister. Abigail Breslin, Sofia Vassilieva, Alec Baldwin, Joan Cusack and Thomas Dekker also star. From Yahoo News.

John Lithgow and Kristin Scott Thomas have joined Confessions of a Shopaholic which is based on the novels by Sophie Kinsella and will be directed by P.J. Hogan, the romantic comedy focuses on a compulsive shopper played by Isla Fisher who is up to her neck in debt and becomes a financial-advice columnist. Lithgow will play a publishing magnate, Scott Thomas a magazine editor, Leslie Bibb a fashion magazine staffer, Lynn Redgrave a female head of a publishing empire, and Julie Hagerty as a business magazine assistant. The story comes from Yahoo News.

Charlie Sheen will lead a new film about a couple who seek vengeance on the paedophile who murdered their son. The couple turn to vengeance and the film is said to pack a surprising ending and a powerful moral message. Rob Lieberman is set to direct, and I remember his Fire in the Sky film which was rather psychologically unnerving than anything. The story comes from Bloody Disgusting through Moviehole.
