Del Toro on Hobbit and End of Days
Guillermo del Toro is set to bring another childhood and horror film to the screen, this one is called Saturn and the End of Days. Not only is he talking about his new film but he's also dropping a few hints about The Hobbit.
While he tells us a fair amount about his new film we're hearing next to nothing about The Hobbit and he gives us nothing but riddles about when and what to expect in a news announcement coming soon.
Speaking about his new film Saturn and the End of Days he says through Digital Spy that:
"It's about a kid named Saturn watching the Rapture and the Apocalypse while on the way back and forth from the grocery store. It's like, what would happen if the Apocalypse was viewed by you [while] doing errands. You go back and forth and nothing big happens except the entire world is being sucked into a vortex of fire."
Okay, that sounds visually superb, but where's the story? I know Guillermo del Toro will deliver, that's a given, but what is it really going to be about?
Meanwhile, and this is the big news that has him revealing even less, he drops a poem onto the boards at One Ring through Cinema Blend and hints at some announcement being made for The Hobbit films in the very near future, a future date and time you could predict if you were smart enough.
You can read the whole thing on the boards, but I'm pretty sure you'll see it's talking about The Hobbit, but here's the bit about the timing of the announcement:
"The day of the moon will be
when all is revealed to thee?
Questions will cease?
Answers will please?
We´ll learn of the Shire?
and all you desire.
At ten minus Three.
Joining to be?
Ten minus Eight?
Add to the slate?
of the two dozen princes?
that die without winces.?
And add to each day of?
Read the rest you can read over at the One Ring Forums. What do you think? Are we getting the announcement that he's helming The Hobbit films soon?
