Kill Bill sequels coming?
Uma Thurman has been talking about Kill Bill again, a topic that never seems to be laid to rest perhaps because the originals never totally addressed the story for the audience.
Now she's revealed that there's set to be two animated tales for Kill Bill, with the growing fad of an intermission between the two which will feature some other part of the story. However the big thing is Thurman's character is not in them.
So who does that leave for a Kill Bill double bill of manga films? Well Bill himself of course, who else would be worthy of headlining two sequels/prequels and would also be grateful at not having to do crazy martial arts type work? David Carradine of course!
MTV Movies Blog, which still allows those outside the U.S. to read the text and adverts on its site, just not the video, has the comments from Uma Thurman about the films.
"It has nothing to do with me...It has to do with another character. You'll have to see."
Do you think that's Bill himself, or could it be someone in the gang? Perhaps we're seeing a film per gang member?
"Right now he's putting the two films together with an intermission with an added anime sequence he had already written...So additional stories are in there, in animation."
Are you keen to see more of Kill Bill? I don't know how good it could be compared to the original because that worked so well having the revenge story in there without any real origin, I loved that aspect of it, we were driven by the revenge plot and that's what the audience had to hold onto. Would it have worked with all the characters explained?
Perhaps that's what this story is going to do, or perhaps it's just going to go back to some of the origins of Bill and his gang of killers. What would you want from them?
