Mongol trailer online

Talking of rather different trailers, I saw the trailer for Mongol today, a film charting the life of the legendary figure of Genghis Khan.

The trailer looks pretty epic and some of the scenes are rather stunning in scope. You'd be quite forgiven for thinking that this was a big Hollywood epic, but no, it's actually from Russian director Sergei Bodrov.

The film is based on researched material and written by Bodrov and Arif Aliyev. It tells of Genghis Khan's life from when he was born in 1162. The film is said to present him as a complex character, rather than the mercenary barbarian that is the common understanding.

According to the blurb on Apple Trailers [QT:iPod:M:480p:720p:1080p] it also looks on him as an inspiring, fearless and inspirational leader.

I like the fact that the trailer for Mongol is so "quiet" and so big in its visual scope, two things that really caught my eye and really have turned me over to this film.
