Ritchie and Vaughn in Debt

GuyRitchie.jpgGuy Ritchie has another project planned and thank the lord it's not a gangster film, or one starring his esteemed wife. He is teaming up again with Matthew Vaughn to remake the 2007 Israeli thriller The Debt. The film is set in the 1960s and follows three Mossad agents as they try and track down a World War II war criminal, once believed to be dead. The pursuit takes them across Europe as they try and track him down.

The Hollywood Reporter says Miramax have signed up for the remake, with Vaughn's writing partner Jane Goldman also invloved. Ritchie and Vaughn have worked together a few times including Snatch and, ahem Swept Away. This film does sound promising though. Has anyone seen the original?

Steve McCroskey: Jacobs, I want to know absolutely everything that's happened up till now.
Jacobs: Well, let's see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it.
