Marry Him! The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough gets a deal...
Womb is a film that has just been picked up by Razor Film and Film4 productions with Hungarian director Benedek Fliegauf set to direct. The story is to be an English language film set in Berlin and along the North Sea coast which will tell the story of trying to overcome death by using genetic manipulation. The article comes from Variety.
Thundercade is a comedy script from Ernie Cline, the co-writer of Fanboys, which will follow a video game fan having a midlife crisis who discovers that a young video gamer has broken a world record he set when he was a teenager. He and two friends decide to begin a journey to reclaim his place in the video game record books and win the world's ultimate gaming championship called Thundercade.
Apparently Cline is a video game addict and owns six games consoles, and he had the idea when he played his nephew at the video games and he was being verbally derided during the sessions, i.e. "trash-talked". He then had the idea of pitching the old eighties videogamers from the Atari days against those of the XBox and PlayStation 3 days. The article comes from Variety.
Lori Gottlieb's article from Atlantic Monthly is being made into a film. In the article, Marry Him! The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough, Gottlieb talks about how settling will probably make a woman happier in the long run because those who marry an ideal man with high expectations become more and more disillusioned as time goes on. The article gathered a lot of attention - surprisingly! - and was across television talk shows and newspapers. The spin off book Marry Him: Finding Mr Real is to be published and will also form part of the script according to The Hollywood Reporter through Yahoo News.
