Stalked: New York, I Love You, Mother, L, The Edge of Love, Hack/Slash

Orlando Bloom, Olivia Thirlby, Ethan Hawke, Hayden Christensen, Shia LaBeouf and Julie Christie are all set to join the film New York, I Love You which follows on the idea from Paris Je t'aime (Filmstalker review) but placing itself in, yeah I know you've guessed already, Iceland. No, just kidding, New York.

The film is made up of short segments from different directors and will feature the following behind the camera - Mira Nair, Brett Ratner and Alan Hughes, Shekhar Kapur, Fatih Akin, Andrey Zvyagintsev, Wen Jiang, even Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are set to direct.

Other names involved in the cast according to Variety are Carlos Acosta, Kevin Bacon, Justin Bartha, Rachel Bilson, James Caan, Bradley Cooper, Chris Cooper, Drea de Matteo, Irrfan Khan, Cloris Leachman, Blake Lively, Emilie Ohana, Maggie Q, Shu Qi, Eli Wallach, Saul Williams, Robin Wright-Penn, Anton Yelchin and Ugur Yucel.

After the success of The Host (Filmstalker review) and announcing that he'll have nothing to do with the sequel and remake, Bong Joon-Ho has announced his next project over on Variety, Mother. The film is about a not too social loser who is framed in an horrific murder and his mother tries to find out what really happened in order to set him free. Joining the cast are Won Bin and Kim Hye-Ja.

Variety has the news that John Maybury's film about Dylan Thomas is to open the Edinburgh International Film Festival this year. The Edge of Love stars Keira Knightley, Cillian Murphy, Matthew Rhys and Sienna Miller and shows the poet torn between his childhood sweetheart played by Knightley and his wife played by Miller.

Variety also has the news that Hideo Nakata's film L: Change the World is to open the Italian Film Festival of Far East Film this year.

According to Variety Justin Marks has been set to write Hack/Slash, the adaptation of the successful comic book that follows Cassie Hack, a woman who travels to small American towns hunting slasher killers.
