The Muppets story revealed

Muppets-Waldorf-Statler.jpgThe new Muppets script is being written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, a strange choice indeed, but Segel has been talking about the story online and what they've said is rather comforting.

Actually, what they have in store for the Muppets seems to be a pretty good story and might just be a strong return for the characters.

Nick Stoller and Jason Segel are the writers behind the new Muppet idea, and while they've had success on Judd Apatow films, it seems kind of crazy that they would be writing a Muppet script, but then Segel spoke to Empire about the idea.

“It's the Muppets needing to get back together to save the show...It's going to take place all over the world. Basically, the Muppets are no longer together. So that might take a while to film. I guess they've set the precedent in that last movie (Muppets From Space) that Gonzo is, in fact, an alien, so he could well end up in space. That guy's all over the place!”

Now the idea that they're all separated and scattered to the four corners of the world is actually a pretty powerful one. I do like the idea and it does sound like a new take for the Muppets.

Previously CHUD revealed that the Muppets story would see them reunite and fight to try and save an old theatre from demolition – could it be the old theatre that we used to watch them in every weekend? Oh this would be a great idea, now they just have to capture the characters and their relationships.

What do you think, is this going to be a good comeback for the Muppets, and are people still wanting to see them on screen?
