Dawn of the Dead sequel

DawnoftheDeadRemake.jpgThis is the first sequel idea in a while that doesn't make me roll my eyes. The original Dawn of the Dead is my favourite of the Living Dead series, and now there is to be a sequel to follow on from the 2004 version.

When I watched Zach Snyder's Dawn of Dead, I was more than prepared to find something about it I didn't like. But to my surprise I loved it. The claustrophobic atmosphere of the shopping mall was still there, but it also has new elements compared to George A Romero's Dawn of the Dead.

Now HorrorMovies.ca through Movies Online, say that a sequel to the 2004 version has been confirmed. Personally I'd really like Zach Snyder to direct it, and for it to carry on from where the last left off. Might be tricky getting the same cast and director together again though.

wasn't there a film called land of the dead? I thought that was a sequel but it might have been a spin off of types. Can somebody shed some light on this for me i'm just a bit confused. Anyway back to the point.

I really liked land of the dead and even though there are countless "zombie" movies out there this one seemed to be very original and added a whole new aspect to the genre. I just hope the sequel can do the same. Looking forward to watching it.

If I'm right Land of the Dead is the fourth in the series. Preceded by Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead.

Day of the Dead has just been remade with Mena Suvari and Ving Rhames. And then there is Diary of the Dead the most recent one.

Let's hope the new sequel continues to add new dimensions to it, that's what I liked so much about Zach Snyder's Dawn of the Dead. Plus with Day of the Dead already remade recently, it could be a totally original concept. Or maybe I'm asking too much!
