Iron Man sequel on already ?

IronMan_Logo.jpgIron Man has only just been released but it looks like a sequel is already on the cards. I suppose we all saw it coming, but maybe not as quickly as it's rumoured to be slated for.

The news comes form an unlikely source through IESB. Robert Downey Jr's trainer says that he had taken a break from training whilst filming Tropic Thunder, but will be back in training for the sequel after the premieres are over. This should lead to Downey Jr being ready for filming in early 2009, and probably a release in 2010. So would you like to see another Iron Man film, or would an Avengers film be more up your street?

Hey Rich, I think this is a no brainer. I saw the movie at a first showing last night and I must say it was fine.

Not great, not bad, just fine. R.D. Jr makes this movie. He is the highlight and certainly was perfect for the role. Everyone else does a great job as well, but Downey stands out.

The action was good, but the ending was missing that punch, and feel short just a bit. It was OK, but nothing epic -lack of chills-. Also the very end was a bit untraditional for a super hero movie, but I guess it works.

I have no doubt that part 2 will happen, that we will get the team back from the origianl, and that John F. will do a better job, learning from his small mistakes.

Oh I'm glad I'm not alone in my thinking that it lacked punch, particularly the ending. It was good, don't get me wrong, but there was a lot more they could have done with it and they did seem to stop short of really going after the character.

I would have written the review up, but it's just been so busy with the wedding!
