Quentin Tarantino confirms his next project
Quentin Tarantino has confirmed what his next project is. At the Cannes film festival he was asked during an interview what his next venture would be, and at last it is Inglorious Bastards.
Tarantino has been quiet since Grindhouse, working on the script, but now it looks like he's nearly ready to go on Inglorious Bastards.
Quentin Tarantino was asked the question during a television interview in Cannes. The answer through Jo Blo was:
The next movie I'm doing is my World War II movie. I just finished up the first draft and if all goes well, I will be here, in Cannes, in 2009 with Inglorious Bastards
Inglorious Bastards has been on the go for a while, with Tarantino working hard on the script. His plan was to finish it while on the road promoting Grindhouse. Now we can expect to see the film a year from now.
Inglorious Bastards is based on Quel maledetto treno blindato , which is based on The Dirty Dozen. The plot basically involving a bunch of US soldiers set to be executed for misconduct during World War II. Their last chance of redemption being a mission which could lead to their deaths.
There have been various casting rumours, including one involving Sylvester Stallone which he denied, but nothing concrete yet. Doesn't look like we'll have too long to wait though. I'm excited to see this one, The Dirty Dozen is one of my favourite war films. God knows what Tarantino will do with the concept...
