Scorsese is off Bob Marley film

MartinScorsese.jpgMartin Scorsese has pulled out of the Bob Marley documentary he was to direct, the reason being "scheduling conflicts". A well known director has been lined up to replace him though.

Jonathan Demme is the man to take over from Martin Scorsese. Bob Marley's son Ziggy is executive producing the documentary. The release is scheduled for 6 February 2010, which would have been Marley's 65th birthday. The news comes from the BBC.

The film would have been another musical documentary for Scorsese, who has already made Shine a Light with The Rolling Stones. He's also got a George Harrison documentary and a film about Theodore Roosevelt up his sleeve.

Movable Type 3.34

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
- Jack Burton, Big Trouble in Little China
