William Defoe has joined Cirque du Freak.

Sharon Stone has upset China.

William Defoe has joined the cast of Cirque du Freak. It's an impressive cast already with John C. Reilly, Ken Watanabe, Chris Massoglia, Josh Hutcherson, Patrick Fugit, Ray Stevenson, Michael Cerveris, Frankie Faison, Jane Krakowski, Orlando Jones, Kristen Schaal and Salma Hayek. Coming Soon say that Defoe will be playing a vampire.

The film is based on a children's book series, where a young boy becomes involved with vampires and also in their fight against their enemies the Vampaneze.

Sharon Stone's films may find themselves boycotted in China, following remarks she made about the earthquake in China. Speaking in Cannes, and quoted on The Hollywood Reporter she said:

I'm not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don't think anyone should be unkind to anyone else. And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you're not nice that the bad things happen to you?

The remarks have not gone down well in China, with one of the biggest cinema chains calling them "inappropriate".

Well, with films like Catwoman and Basic Instinct 2 it might not be a huge loss.
