The Waco siege has inspired a film.

Groan....Another remake, this time it's Highlander.

John Woo is to make 1949.

Rupert Wainwright is to direct a film based on the events at Waco in 1993. When ATF agents tried to arrest the Branch Davidian cult leader David Koresh, a 51 day siege ensued. Seventy six people died by the time the siege came to an end. The news comes from Variety.

Highlander is the next on the never ending list of remakes. The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon, says that the co-writers of Iron Man, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will write the script. Hmph.

John Woo's next project will be 1949, a romance based at the end of World War II, and the llater years of the Chinese Civil War. Variety say filming will begin late this year.
