David Chase is to direct his first feature film.
Some people are none too please with Ellen Page's new role.
James McTeigue has agreed to direct Revolution.
The Sopranos creator David Chase is to direct his first feature film. It will be for Paramount studio but details are thin on the ground. It will not be a Mafia movie though, and no Sopranos film is part of the deal. News comes from Variety.
Not everyone is over the moon about Ellen Page being cast as Jayne Eyre in the BBC Films adaptation. A British TV executive has been quoted on Digital Spy saying:
No one is doubting Ellen Page's acting abilities, but why a BBC movie of Jane Eyre couldn't have a British actress in the lead is pretty hard to stomach. It's not as if we don't have enough talented young actresses here who could play the role.
In it's defence the BBC say that the supporting roles will be filled by British actors, and that there shouldn't be concerns about an American actress playing such a role. Hey if Gwyneth Paltrow can do it.
Variety reports that James McTeigue is to direct Revolution. It's a tale about a journalist investigating a series of murders, which may be linked with an organisation researching alien abductions.
