Metal Gear Solid film has Anderson interested

MetalGearSolid.jpgThe film version of Metal Gear Solid could finally be seeing some movement. The film has been talked about for ages with nothing ever really happening, but now there could be a director interested.

At a press release for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots, Aki Saito the man responsible for negotiating the film deal for Konami, said that Paul Thomas Anderson is interested in making it. The news comes from kotaku through Moviehole.

This isn't confirmed news but at least it is news. Do you like the idea of Anderson making it, or is there someone else you'd rather see?

Well thankfully it's Paul Thomas Anderson and not, as I read today on Twitter from (I think) /Film, Paul W.S. Anderson, the man behind Alien vs Predator.

It'll be interesting to hear what comes out from this. Videogame adaptations are most definitely getting looked at in a different light from Hollywood, and if this is true it's backing that up.
