Carter of Mars, live action or CGI?

JohnCarterofMars.jpgThe film version of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars, has been ongoing for a while, and recently gained a writer in Andrew Stanton. He has written Wall-E and a number of other Pixar films. But it's still up in the air as to whether is will be a live action or CGI film.

Seems a bit strange if Pixar are involved and they decide to go live action. Not to worry it could go either way.

It's not so long ago that we heard Andrew Stanton was going to be writing a script for John Carter of Mars. But despite Pixar's involvement he's denied that any decision has been taken on what the film will look like. Stanton was talking to SciFi Wire, and also confirmed what we knew already, that he's writing the script:

Everybody's asking that, and we are not going to make that decision for about a year....Well, it's pretty much already out there, I'm definitely writing it ... with Mark Andrews and, that's all we're doing right now, is just writing it.

So we'll have to wait a year to find out if it's live action, CGI or a mixture of both. If it is CGI we can probably expect a long wait. Given it's set on Mars though, I reckon Pixar could make it look amazing. Any fans out there with a preference?
