Spiderman 4 in 2011

Spiderman.jpgThere hasn't been much concrete news on Spiderman 4 for a while. The orignal release date was rumoured to be 2010, but one of the producers says they are aiming for a 2011 release date.

Sony renewed their option to make Spiderman 4 and 5, and since then we've been waiting for news on Sam Raimi and the rest of the team. Looks like it'll be three years before it's ready.

Spiderman producer Laura Ziskin was speaking to a group of cinema owners from California and Nevada. The Los Angeles Times say they are aiming for a May 2011 release date, but that there isn't a finished screenplay yet.

Sam Raimi recently said that he was waiting for a finished script, before he made any desicions about returning. And all we know about Tobey Maguire is that he's open to more Spiderman films. Until the script is finished we probably won't know more than that. I can't see Raimi or Maguire wanting to invest time in another Spiderman, if the script isn't up to scratch. Not sure I'd want them to either.
